New Beginnings: The First Image from My New Enhanced Black and White Infrared Camera!

davidmarxphotography

Good Morning. Sometimes life has a way of tying everything together beautifully. My new black and white, infrared-only camera arrived last night. I have been yearning for this new toy for many months.

My "new camera" is actually an old camera. I sent a used Canon EOS 20D Digital SLR Camera Bodyoff to www.LifePixel.com and had them convert it into an infrared camera. They have given this old camera a whole new life.

Likewise, the house that I live in is also getting new life. This old place is getting a new roof and paint for the first time in at least thirty years. See the connection? This morning, it all fit. It just makes perfect sense that the very first image from my "remodeled camera" is my house in the process of being remodeled.

For those who are curious, this shot is hand held at 1/30 of a second, f/9.0 ISO 400, and there are no filters or Photoshop tricks here. With this new camera, I can shoot infrared without a tripod and without the usual heavy glass lens filters that cut out so much light.
