Digital photography

Digital photography is a process that creates an image focused by a lens through a variety of light sensitive sensors. The digital camera stores the image on some form of digital memory which will either be a hard drive within the camera or a removable storage device. Most digital cameras have both. Once stored, the images are then available for future processing, which includes creative applications, image correction procedures, online distribution and printing.

In contrast to conventional photography, digital photography relies totally on computer technology. This means that photographers using digital cameras must have both the hardware and software facilities required as well as the understanding of how the process and importantly, how the software works.
